NEGLECTED PAGES

 

I wanted to be your sunshine, your light 

highlighted lines 

on your favorite books of all times

Wanted to be your friend, lover in disguise 

night sky fireflies 

On the nights you couldn't sleep alright

I wanted to be your sidekick, standing by your side,

a part of your fight

Battling everything as if I were a knight 

Wanted to be your homie,

spilling the funniest of jokes

So I could see the smile that you kept cloaked

But all I ever was, was an alarm clock

that you'd hit the snooze button for

Neglected pages in your favorite books

that you'd never care  to visualize

A withered flower 

that you'd only look at 

if it was the last option left

All I ever managed to do was,

Be a peripheral vision to your subconscious

A grudge who's revenge is impossible,

And the regret of a sin which couldn't be confessed

Yes, all I managed to do was be worthless
